Lead Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician Position – Full-Time

We believe in educating clients to help them make better informed decisions about their pets’ healthcare. It takes time to practice the best medicine, and a ten minute exam is NOT enough. Fostering a relationship with the patient and the client is valuable to us. If you are looking to work with a veterinarian that puts these values into practice, this is the place. We are looking for an experienced registered technician with leadership skills, medical knowledge and experience in improving protocols and training staff. This lead position would provide training for future staff as we continue to grow in our community and training of current staff to maintain the best practices working in collaboration with management. We are looking for the right person to join our team who will be an extension of the doctor’s philosophy of animal healthcare. We focus on preventative healthcare, diagnostics and have a special interest in dermatology, internal medicine and therapy laser applications. Our surgeries include but are not limited to spays, neuters, mass removals and dentals with full day recovery/monitoring and availability of an oxygen and temperature controlled Synder ICU unit. Duties include but are not limited to preparing labs, venipuncture, placing IV catheters, anesthesia monitoring, patient triage, dental cleaning/prophylaxis, communicating knowledge of vaccine protocols, parasite control and preventative care, as well as thoroughly obtaining and recording medical history and vital signs. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 40 pounds. Will alternate 1 or 2 days per week with other RVTs/VNs to manage front desk to offer variety and change of pace with the ability to interface with clients regarding specifics of diagnostics and follow up. An ability to foster a positive work environment as part of a team is a must. Hours include 3 ½ to 4 weekdays (8 – 5:30) and rotating Saturdays (8:30 – 12). Flexibility with the schedule if needed is expected. We are located one mile south of Asheville.

EXPERIENCE: Position requires at least 5 years working full-time as a registered veterinary technician.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: $16 per hour plus an insurance stipend per two week pay period after successfully completing a three month introductory period. Additional employee benefits available with continued employment.

Veterinary Technician/Nurse Position

Fostering a relationship with the patient and the client is valuable to us. We are looking for a smiling face to join us in providing quality veterinary medicine. We focus on preventative healthcare, diagnostics and have a special interest in dermatology and laser therapy. Our surgeries include dentals, spays, neuters and mass removals.This position requires at least two years veterinary medical experience: RVT or equivalent preferred.

Technician duties include but are not limited to preparing labs, venipuncture, placing IV catheters, anesthesia monitoring, patient triage, dental cleaning, communicating knowledge of vaccine protocols, parasite control and preventive care, obtaining and recording medical history and vital signs. This position includes rotating client service duties to provide additional medical knowledge to clients about their pets in our care and to the public.Looking for a mature, dependable and compassionate individual that exhibits excellent communication, organizational skills, and exceptional customer service. An ability to foster a positive work environment is a must. Part-time position working some weekdays and rotating Saturdays, with the opportunity to move to full-time. Flexibility with the schedule when needed is required. We are located one mile south of Asheville.
